Myong’s Island Music

October 9th, 2009 by myong

So I have a music album coming out this late November with 5 original island style songs I wrote!  Roland at RdubRecordings signed me a week before I came to Guam so we spend the whole week, 12 hours a day getting it finished!  He basically made my average songs into somethingI never could have imagined sounding.  I love them:)  My first single ‘Island Woman’ has been a hit arund the island being played local radios stations, i94, power 98 and hit radio 100.  Special thanks to the radio dj’s, Andy Wheeler, Chris, Oz, Kai, Ambrosia and JB for always saying good things about me when playing my song! MDM magazine got excited that I also sing besides shooting so they hooked me up with a 2 page spread of my music in their magazine!  If you have myspace, you can add my music mypsace page at www.myspace.com/myong and there you can also listen to the final version of Island Woman.  I also have some youtube videos at www.youtube.com/myonghong.

I feel very blessed to be able to express myself in such artforms and have others enjoy them whether, it’s my photography, music and art and to do it as a living makes life that much more amazing.  I just wanted to take my time to all you guys who’s been showering me with friendship and compliments, thank you from the bottom of my soul:) I better put the pages from the magazine here and stop talking before I get all mooshy and stuff.

Valena, Guam Xperience & Lindsey

April 22nd, 2009 by myong

I’ve been busy lately adjusting to Guam living so I haven’t updated my blog in a while, my bad:)  This is a recent photograph of Valena Cruz who is my friend and also one of my host for a TV show we’re coming up with in Guam.  It’s called Guam Xperience and it’s a show that in one episode it can show the viewer a place to cruise, place to eat, local sports, night life and a local original music video.  You can view our first trailer below.  I also have Lindsey, a Sandcastle dancer which is like a Vegas show, below.

Myong Island Music

January 20th, 2009 by myong

Last month, I got signed to an independent recording studio, Rdub Recordings to make a 5 song Album.  We spent a whole week and stayed even as late to 5 am to finish.  I’m so stoked!  My songs are all island style music since I’m from Guam and have been heavily influenced by the island music.  The music engineer who edited some of Blink 182 and POD will be mastering my songs!  Life is cool like that:)  Check my songs out at www.myspace.com/myong and if you have a myspace, add me as your friend.  If you add one of my ‘unedited’ songs on your playlist, I’ll be your friend for life:)  Here is the cover of the album.

San Diego Firestorm!

October 24th, 2007 by myong

We are doing fine here in San Diego.  Luckily our place in Oceanside and hasn’t been touched by the fires and only experiencing ashy air and red sky.  Last night, Marine Base Camp Pendleton caught on fire.  We’re right below them so I will have the TV on all day to check the status.  Over 500,000 people have been evacuated and 200,000 acres burned.  There are over 6,000 firefighters fighting this fires including the national guard, army and the local volunteers.  San Diego rocks!  There were so many volunteers and donations, Qualcomm Stadium was turning down donations last night because they had so much!  Pizza Hut got turned down for donations as well!  That is so amazing to hear.

Melissa’s Photo Session

July 17th, 2007 by myong

I had the opportunity to photograph Melissa. A very bright and beautiful young lady who is currently going for her last year for Criminal Justice degree and pursuing her master’s degree but on the side using her looks to do modeling, runways and even the upcoming Comic Con. I warned her about the thousands of nerds that’ll be wanting to take photos with her all day but I remembered that I too am a comic nerd as well. If you know comic books then you should know Jim Lee. The best damn comic book artist in the world. I even asked Jim Lee (my inspiration artist next to my dad) if I can come over to his Comic Studio in LaJolla to meet him and hook him up with a portrait. He said to come on by:0) Ahh, the power of myspace. I learned how to draw by reading Jim Lee’s comic book. You can see some of my artwork at www.myonghong.com. Anyways, enjoy Melissa’s photos. I think they came out nicely.
