Welcome to Prodigy Studios Photography Blog!
Hafa Adai! My name is Myong and I am a wedding photographer in Guam and San Diego, California. I specialize in capturing true moments, creative portraits and fun photos for all my brides, grooms, friends and family, especially my little son, Tumtum. I am very honored that you guys have taken your time to stop by to check out some of my photography stuff. This blog is a photo journal of my weddings, portraits, personal shoots and my little son's life as he grows up so fast. This is where you can get to know a bit more about me and if there's anything that you like, leave a comment. We all love comments:O)
Finally, I was able to finish up Cindy and Dan’s 7.7.7 wedding, the most popular wedding date every in the whole world. I had so many inquiries for this date but luckily Cindy and Dan got me since middle of last year! I love these two. We started the day at Balboa Park for photo and then went to ZLAC in PB for the ceremony and reception. This was good since we got to get the family, bridal and formal photos out of the way before we all got tired, not that we get tired after the ceremony:). They are genuinely nice and i just love seeing the warmth in there family for one another. This is what i love about shooting weddings. It’s a reminder that the world can almost be like heaven at times but then I feel that everytime I see my boy from a long day of work:) Okay, enough cheese. Here are few of there photos and push play to watch they’re slideshow.
I took Morgan to my secret spot where i love to photograph becuase it seems like everytime I go there, the colors are different and there’s always different places I can take photos at. I love this one on one assignment photos because it allows me to come up with different angles and style in photography. This knowledge, of course, becomes valuable when I shoot weddings since in weddings you don’t have too much time to get too creative and have to shoot 100 miles an hour. Morgan was very patient with me and also made my shoot easier since she was very optimistic throughout the whole session. That energy helps when shooting:) Enjoy the photos, I just love the colors in them.
We had the priviledge of photographing Rian and Albrecht’s wedding in Admiral Kidd. I even met some of my old friends and co-workers there. I love Phillipino weddings. There’s always many people at the reception and they can get pretty rowdy which is awesome when you’re looking to have a fun time partying:0). Here are some of there photos.
I had the opportunity to photograph Melissa. A very bright and beautiful young lady who is currently going for her last year for Criminal Justice degree and pursuing her master’s degree but on the side using her looks to do modeling, runways and even the upcoming Comic Con. I warned her about the thousands of nerds that’ll be wanting to take photos with her all day but I remembered that I too am a comic nerd as well. If you know comic books then you should know Jim Lee. The best damn comic book artist in the world. I even asked Jim Lee (my inspiration artist next to my dad) if I can come over to his Comic Studio in LaJolla to meet him and hook him up with a portrait. He said to come on by:0) Ahh, the power of myspace. I learned how to draw by reading Jim Lee’s comic book. You can see some of my artwork at www.myonghong.com. Anyways, enjoy Melissa’s photos. I think they came out nicely.
We had a blast photographing Sara and Daniel’s wedding. You can check out Sara and Daniel’s engagement photos here. There were so many guests that they wanted to invite that we had two seperate receptions! We had some fun at Balboa park as well and luckily, it wasn’t as crowded as I thought it’d be. Sara and Daniel has so much love in them that when they hug people, they embrace them. It was vey inspiring to see the love that they had for all there friends and family. This is what I love the most about shooting a wedding. A chance to see that beautiful emotion that might’ve passed you by because life seems to fly 1000 miles an hour. It’s like stopping by to smell the rose. Okay, I better stop before it gets even cheesier. We have uploaded some more of there photos on our main Prodigy Studios site under wedding2. Enjoy there photos:)
I had the priviledge of donating my time by photographing a group of Samba Dancers. They are a non-profit community group named Super Sonic Samba School. You can check out there website at www.SSSamba.org. I had so much fun photographing them. The drum beats, the dancing, the energy, I would’ve shot all night! I especially loved the two son drummers and there mother who also drums as well. Now that’s an awesome way to spend time with your kids. Oh and the beautiful ladies added the extra spice to make the whole night a fun time:0) Enjoy their photos!
I took Brittney to downtown San Diego, Gaslamp, and took some photos. She was a good sport since she hasn’t eaten all day (except for half a bagel) but yet chugged along and got through the photoshoot. We even had couple of european visitors come and take her photos asking if she was famous. I told them that she was. It was a fun day. Couple of the photos were taken in front of the gym, ‘Bodyworks’ and some of the guys yelled out the window their hoo’s and ha’s. I’m telling you, the whole session was entertaining. You can check out the rest of her photos on the main Prodigy Studios site.
We had the priviledge of photographing our dear friends Diana and Kris’s wedding. You can see their engagement photos by clicking here. Since the wedding day was so fast and hectic they wanted to take there formal photos on another day so I took them to my special location and got some cool shots. They own a juice and sandwich shop , Juice-A-Rama in miramesa next to AM PM and I swear to you they have the best sandwiches I have ever had. They keep insisting that I don’t pay for them everytime I get some. Too kind for words. Cloudy days turns to sunny skies when you’re offered free lunch:0)
